Hey y’all,

Sorry we haven’t updated in a while, but here are a couple new bets for your enjoyment!!

Just a quick update for all you people out in the interwebs…Jay and I will be heading out to Calgary in a couple days to attend the 49th CCCWC.  It seems like we don’t pull out the 10 dollar bill anymore unless we’re on trips…so y’all can probably expect some new bets to be posted in the new year.  So until then, we wish you a merry Christmas…and a happy new year!!

It’s been just over 6 months since our last 10db…SIX MONTHS!!  It’s been far too long, if you ask me.  A lot’s happened in those six months (I did some travelling, and Jay took a tonne of pictures).  For those of you who’ve lost track, Jay holds the ten dollars right now…but not for long!  Jay and I will be going on a short road trip down to Madison, Wisconsin next weekend to hit up a Joshua Radin concert.  While a lot of the trip will be spent cooped up in the car, playing zitchdog and eating beef jerky, there will also be plenty of time for making bets due to the “vacation rule“.

The first ever Long-D 10DB!!

My inspiration for this 10db came from observing a young child at a restaurant.  At such a young age, kids don’t really understand manners, and the concept of being polite - they just want to get whatever they want as soon as possible.  This particular child had just finished drinking his milk, and apparently wanted some more.  The way in which he requested for more milk was pretty amusing (cuz he’s a little kid), and made me think “I wonder how people would react if an adult did the same thing…”

Being a Canadian-born Chinese, I get a kick out of bad Chinese-English translations (see www.engrish.com).

A few months ago, my friend Ken got some face cream as a gag gift.  By reading the label and instructions, one could easily conclude that the lotion was of the “made in China” variety - the perfect kind of prop to be used in a 10DB.

Yes, this bet was easy and lame, but just the thought of what this lotion (of questionable origin) may or may not do to Jay’s face added to the thrill (I was secretly hoping it would turn his skin blue).

For those of you who’ve been following along, we’ve been posting our older 10DBs most Tuesdays.  It took a while, but all of the retro 10DBs are officially up now, and all that’s left is to start doing some new ones.  I’m going to be moving to Texas for school next week, so I’m going to try to get in one last 10DB before I leave.  So keep posted for some new bets in the near future!

As I mentioned in the Lotion Bet, us boys invent some pretty stupid games to amuse ourselves.

While we were in Florida the weather was pretty hot, and to keep cool, we kept some ice in our hotel room to chill some drinks.  Well, being the boys that we are, we came up with “the ice game”.  The goal of “the ice game” was to sneak up on one of the other guys, and slip an ice cube into their shorts.  As stupid as the game may sound, it requires great finesse and agility to be successful at “the ice game” and not a victim.  Being the youngest one in the group, I often get teamed up on when it comes to games such as this, so I had to take matters into my own hands…

While we were at Disney, we found that the customer service was AWESOME, and all the Disney employees were all very helpful (oh, Svetlana).  During our first full day in Florida, I wanted to test just how professional the Disney staff was.

While we were walking around Magic Kingdom, every once in a while, we would see some little girl running around wearing a little princess dress.  The four of us thought it was kind of ridiculous, cuz there’s pretty much no other appropriate time when a kid could wear that dress (Halloween…The Prom…?) outside of Disney World.  We ended up finding the store in Disney where they sell the dresses, and that’s where I came up with this bet.  It can only be described as being absolutely MAGICAL.

Sorry for being tardy on the bet this week.  I was actually going to post these bets last week but I had to re-think it a bit.  Samm and I weren’t sure if we wanted to post these weak-sauce bets.  I’ll explain the reasoning behind it.  One of our 10DB rules states that we can’t make bets that may cause or potentally cause the betee to get arrested.  Now this may seem pretty extreme but you never know how people are going to react nowadays.  So after a couple of these types of bets we figured that it’s probably a good idea to not make bets involving touching people, especially strangers.  Besides, the bets usually don’t end up how we envision it anyway, just like these ones…

So…Jay’s over right now, and we’re doing up some Halloween costumes.  He just pulled out the $10.  I’m trying to think of some words to describe what I’m feeling right now…but…there are no words…

Just to take a break from the usual retro 10db’s, we’ll post this new one on Tuesday instead.
