History and the Rules
The idea comes from the tv series, Ed. The main character, Ed Stevens, and his best friend, Mike Burton, did these silly 10 Dollar Bets to each other. They could be anything you could think of, but there’s an unwritten rule that you can’t back down from a $10 bet. Samm and Jay have started their own version of the 10 Dollar Bets and have modified some of the rules:
No Potential of Death – a bet cannot result in any physical harm of the betee, nor put the betee in mortal danger.
No Arrest – a bet cannot put the betee in risk of arrest. (This rule has been modified to include that a bet cannot involve touching a third party individual)
No Repeats - bets that resemble prior bets may not be made unless a full year has passed since the original bet was made.
Recorded - bets must be video-documented
Time Delay – a minimum of 24 hours must be observed after a bet has occurred before another bet can be made. However, while on vacation, bets can be made within 6 hours of each other.
